Hi, my name is Alex Pineda.
Quick background about me. I had built a community around my first big project when I was 12 years old. Thanks to the custom skin and map designer I had developed for my bomberman clone, I had people contributing maps and waiting for new releases to come out with newer and better features. Ever since then I've had a deep fascination for human user interaction and multimedia. I help companies get into their users minds and figure out how to make loyal customers through empowerment. I am comfortable in teams of researchers, developers and designers. I collaborate well and tend to over communicate thanks to my 5+ years of remote work. On the other hand as an introvert I appreciate time alone and periods of deep work, thinking and reflecting on myself, my team and my craft. I currently work remote for a vancouver SaaS and am looking for a change preferably with a onsite and remote/flex-time component. My approach is unique in that I have a strong understanding and communication of technical constraints during design phases. My recent side projects can be found at WIP most notably my new Figma plugin Super Select. See examples of my work and full resume below. Many times I will prototype with real code and use those as mockups and so have presented some real app screenshots. I use google sheets/docs or excel/word to keep and present any research data. |

I believe in working hard while having fun!
Remote Work ProfessionalI'm a remote worker at heart. I was on the front page of the Globe & Mail for when I travelled Western Europe alone for 9 weeks while working remotely, visiting a total of 5 countries and 7 cities . Travel inspires me to do greater things. Lessons learned on remote working I carry with me to every new team I work with.

Team PlayerI have participated in two Startup Weekends and am now co-organizing my 2nd. I published "Intro To JavaScript" available on Skillshare. My more recent Gumroad Challenge product is SQL For Zombies which continues to sell without any marketing! I've written many blog posts I share knowledge because it makes myself and my team stronger.
